Universal Tennis Rating Competitions
We are excited to introduce the Universal Tennis Rating to our competitions and events. Throughout the year we will adding special events and tournaments so you can play aginst players that best fit your level of play.

- Date & Time
Sunday 28th February
Event Times: 12 to 4:30pm and 4:30 to 9pm
- Event Levels
Intermediate (UTR 5 to 5.5)
High Intermediate (UTR 6 to 6.5)
Advanced 1 (UTR 7 to 7.5)
Advanced 2 (UTR 8 to 8.5)
Advanced 3 (UTR 8.9 and above)
- Groupings
Entrants will be placed into groups according to their UTR ranking, not age or gender
- On the Day
Players will be divided into pools of no more than 3
Each player will play two matches
Each pool will be allocated a court for the afternoon or evening
Matches are allocated a 90 minute window
As groups finish and courts free up we will utilise those courts across all groups fairly
Players must arrive 15 minutes prior to match start time and must sign in
Players must agree to our COVID safe agreement before playing at our courts
- Create a UTR player profile
Singles Round Robin
- Pools of 3 players
- Each match will be best of three sets, the third set being a super tie breaker (first to 10 points) at one set all
- 90 minutes per match
- Players will each have two matches in their pool
Fair Play
- Only book into an event at your player level. For instance Advanced 1 players please do not book into High Intermediate events
Entry fee per pool match:
- $55 Advantage members
- $65 non-members
Credits & Refunds
- No credit or refund issued for late cancellation (minimum 48hours) or no show
- Credit issued if event is washed out
- Pool cancellation - if minimum number of players required is not reached a refund will be issued
This event will be held at Surry Hills:
- Surry Hills
- Beaconsfield (we will add additional matches at Beaconsfield if there is overwhelming player demand)
Gradings
if you don't already have a player rating at City Community Tennis you will need to be graded by one of our experienced staff before you can compete in any of our Competitions. Please note grading sessions are not suitable for beginners.
There are several ways to be graded:
- Book into one of our monthly Grading Sessions
- Book a Private Lesson
- Book into a Group Class
- Contact the competitions team if you already have a verified UTR Rating or have considerable competitive experience
